Center for Advanced Science & Technology HYOGO (CAST HYOGO)
The center was built for the aim to support scientific and technological activities in Hyogo by promoting the cooperation between industries, academic organizations, and governments. |
The Synchrotron Orbital Radiation is the artificial light which is produced by accelerating the electrons up to near the velocity of the light which goes around the earth 7 times per second. |
(Explanation of Spring-8)
After the explanation we heard from a staff of the Spring-8.
Electron wears particles of light like clouds in the sky. From the electrons running with very high velocities, the clouds are separated from them when they change their directions under the influence of magnetic field, and the clouds of light appear as the Synchrotron Orbital Radiation.
Synchrotron Orbital Radiation is a bunch of light, which consists of light with various wave lengths, ranging wide from the infrared region to the X-ray region with quite short wave lengths.
It is very bright light and it goes straight and reaches very far without any spreading and with no loss of its brightness.
School building
This is our Harima Higashi Elementary School. We have now 55 students on Sept. 1997. It is 3 years old from its opening. One of the most particular features of our school building is its wide central gallery space. We not only play there between classes, but use it as a place of our mutual communication. A lots of activities, morning gathering, reading contests, calligraphy contests, and etc. are held there. We have wide corridor and classrooms with open space. Another feature will be the dome-shaped roof of the gym. |
|
Even if you see our building from far away, you can easily recognize it for its characteristic external appearance, the wide-spread layout of the school and the concrete wall of the building. It was designed by Tadao Ando, a famous architect. |
