Kamigori-town supported
Kurai Elementary School

In the Kurai Elementary School area, the West Harima Technopolice (science park) and a large-sized radioactive light institution were constructed. The winds of new technology and science are blowing here now. What gives us the most joy, however, is that we have nice people and buildings with a history and warmth of human beings. In our home-page, we'd like to introduce you to such a nice person and several special places in our school area.

Mr. Kumao Yoshida

When we were in the third grade, Mr. Yoshida taught us how to play "gateball (a game especially for old people)." He is a very good player.

He is the director of the gateball club in Kamigori, and also the sports manager of Old People's Club in the Kurai area.

The Flood Control monument

200 meters to the north of our school, the Flood Control monument is located. Long time ago, a big flood killed many people in Kurai. The survivors built a bank to defend themselves. This monument was made as a memorial to it

The Jyokoji Temple

This is the Jyokoji Temple. We can learn tea ceremony and how to read a sutra here.

The Manshoin Temple

The Manshoin Temple is also called "Botan (peony) Temple." When peony trees bloom, many people visit this temple to see the flowers. We have gone hiking up there with our parents. It's a very nice temple.
